Music & Drama

Therapeutic Music Sessions

Our students benefit greatly from learning new ways of using their individual talents in a relaxed and happy environment, resulting in maximum individual personal achievement.

We offer our students therapeutic music sessions. Our two-hour programmes are a careful balance of music moods and activities to stimulate mental, social and physical responses. These stimulating sessions give students a great sense of enjoyment whilst encouraging them to interact and associate with one another.

Our students join in as much or as little as they like. Some indulge in all activities, others simply listen and enjoy the experience. Whatever their level of participation, all our students benefit from the invaluable therapeutic effects of the music itself.

Expressive Drama Sessions

The drama sessions at the centre help to really engage the students and get them actively involved. We plan and perform our own productions every year, usually around December which is a great way to start the festive period and the students really enjoy. Parents and carers come to watch which is a great way for them to see and connect with what the students are doing here.

We have staged a range of different productions over the years from Mary Poppins to Snow White, with the students always enthusiastic to take part in the rehearsals and planning of the shows. We also have previously planned and narrated our own Nativity in our stables on the yard here at the centre, including using our own donkeys for the production!

As well as shows and nativities, our Christmas Chori was another big hit with the students, complete with homemade choir song books for the audience, so their families could join in the fun.

Book a visit and a free taster day

If you are interested in a place, you can book a visit to see the Centre and what we do. Visits are usually booked at 10.30 am or 1.30pm and you are welcome to come with or without the student. We will take you on a tour of the farm and show you our wonderful site.

After your visit you will receive an application pack to complete and the student can join us for a free Taster Day, to see the different the activities and get to know our staff so they feel comfortable there.

Once the placement has been agreed by Social Services and care managers, then the students can start attending.
